The Red Shutter Inn is an iconic Red Mountain establishment in a ski-in location, less than 200 meters walk to the Red and Silverlode chairs at Red Mountain Resort on one side, and next to the "Big Red Cats" headquarters.
Owned by Big Red Cats, it was the original lodging at Red Mountain, built in the 1960's, and has a "ski club" vibe and casual atmosphere, including the most welcoming on-site host. The perfect weekend home-base to many cat skiing groups, it is conveniently located, has the best hot tub in town, and fits 12 people comfortably, it also continues to welcome its regular old ski bums and racers who come to enjoy Red.
Each room has its own newly renovated washroom with shower, a comfortable queen and double bed and heater. Gathering around the wood stove in the lounge room or in the huge outdoor hot tub are with the other guests are highlights of the Red Shutter experience - there are no individual tv's in the hotel rooms, but there is free wifi if you bring your laptop. With only 6 rooms, it is cozy, comfortable, and social.
While there is no kitchen access, we do offer a bar fridge and coffee service area in the lounge room, and BBQ is available in the summer months. We are also conveniently located to nearby resteraunts.
Next door, the 2-bedroom A-Frame Cabin sleeps 4 and offers a basic kitchen, for those who prefer a self-catering option. One of the "best value" options at the hill, it's a great choice for groups of 4 who want inexpensive autonomy but who aren't expecting luxury. Though small and "rustic," it still offers access to the best hot tub and sauna in town, and has free wifi and comfortable beds (king-single in the main bedroom is made up as a king, but can be split, and the king-singles in the 2nd room are dressed as singles.
